Frankenstein Press Conference (10/12/11)

today, we did a press conference dealing when Victor Frankenstein and the monster was accused of burning down a village. Each of us were given a specific role, like The Reverend, Mario Franco, Detective Theurig etc. The press conference was about 8 min long and each of us needs to contribute for about 1.5-2 minutes

I felt this activity was rather challenging, as it tested our skill of drama, debating and questioning. We had to stay in character all the time and be able to pose and answer questions that were thrown at us. My group found it slightly difficult as we had to keep posing and answering questions without getting stuck or going around in circles, we had a bit of practice time and that helped smoothen out any creases that were in our presentation.

On the presentation itself, everything in my point of view did well, but there were moments of awkward silences and there were times where things got too religious and we were arguing about religion rather than the matter at hand. But we did stick to our roles, which what a good thing.

I feel to improve on this, I need to learn sticking into character, be more alert in posing and answering questions and to pose interesting questions that challenge the audience. I can achieve this by getting advice from teachers, watching a play and observing the actors or rehearse constantly before performing for real
